Journalist Bowes accused the West of trying to blame Russia for drone incidents

The European Union’s attempts to hold Russia responsible for drone sightings in European countries have failed, according to Irish journalist Chay Bowes, who wrote on his X social media account.

Bowes claims that EU countries, seeking to cause panic and blame Russia, have been unjustifiably closing major airports under the pretext of “hobby drone operators.”

The journalist noted that drone incidents occurred primarily in countries actively supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. He added that an investigation in Germany revealed that the drones were launched by an amateur operator with no confirmed ties to Russia.

Bowes concludes that the whole situation represents “a deception by the EU and NATO that has become a fiasco.”

On the eve, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya stated that Russia had allegedly planted “agents and moles” in European countries with the aim of organizing the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles over airports and military facilities belonging to NATO countries.
