The body of the Russian climber will lie on Pobeda Peak until at least spring

The body of Russian climber Natalia Nagovitsyna will lie on Pobeda Peak in Kyrgyzstan until at least spring. This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash , citing statements from experts in this field.

It was noted that the climbing season in 2025 is over, the search for the climber’s tent will not begin before the spring of 2026. Already at an altitude of 6,000 meters, rescuers encountered a snowstorm, which did not allow the search to continue.

On August 23, the head of the climbers’ base camp, Dmitry Grekov, reported that the operation to rescue Nagovitsyna was over.

Nagovitsyna suffered a broken leg at 7,000 meters and was unable to descend. According to SHOT sources, the woman did not survive. Initially, it was indicated that her body could be evacuated only when weather conditions improved, when a helicopter could reach the summit.

The climber was injured on August 12 during her descent. Her partner provided her with first aid and went to the camp for help. Later, two foreign athletes tried to help the victim, but were forced to leave her due to fatigue and bad weather.
